Jazz Orchestra (5,4,4,4). This is the introduction to the Assembly of Shadows suite. It is not a stand-alone piece so I don’t recommend performing it unless you plan to perform the whole suite. The woodwind doublings are as follows: reed 1—flute, reed 2—alto sax, reed 3—clarinet, reed 4—clarinet, reed 5—bass clarinet. Trumpet 4 is on flugelhorn.

Style: classical, polyrhythms, introduction.
